We had the pleasure of interviewing the event organiser Alan Cartwright who is delighted to re-establish this popular event for Derby.
There was a fantastic array of stalls, events and activities. The cookery theatre is always a popular place to be and this year was no exception. Those, along with the craft tent, the wonderful craft and gift tent in quality surroundings and the many other stalls around the perimeter were a delight for all throughout the day.
“Derbyi” were given permission by Alan Cartwright to film a selection of the stalls and the stall holders were more than delighted to talk about their many products.
The next Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair will take place at the Bakewell Showground on Saturday and Sunday 24th – 25th September.
The video has been produced by a Derby based media production business “WhitoMedia”. We hope you will enjoy our short and informative video of our day at Kedleston Hall

We are delighted to have local chef Ralph Skripek demonstrating in our cookery theatre this Sunday 15th May at Kedleston Hall, Derby.
‘Ralph Skripek, a keen fisherman & game shot, is known as ‘The Wild Chef’ he demonstrates game cooking around the Country at numerous game & food fairs, and has written & published a game recipe book entitled ‘Wild Chef, 21 Seasonal Game Recipes’.
Ralph has demonstrated game cookery alongside Mike Robinson (from ITV’s Countrywise), Alan Coxon (TV Chef, ‘From Birmingham to Bombey’), & Tim Maddams (from River Cottage) and has cooked for Hilary Devey (Dragons Den) and the late Clarissa Dickson Wright from the Two Fat Ladies.
He appears on shooting DVD’s for West Country Films and on-line show-reels for The Field & Rural Life TV channel. He is also a regular guest chef on BBC Radio Derby, cooking live on air and discussing current food trends & promoting local produce.
Ralph’s cooking demonstrations are quite unique and bring a touch of the ‘great outdoors’ on to any demonstration theatre or stand. He believes that more is needed to educate the general public into cooking game, and hopes to do this via easy to follow demonstrations & audience participation.
Ralph incorporates game within his lunch menus at his bistro, The Butler’s Pantry in Mickleover & hosts speciality Taste of Game Dinner evenings which are hugely popular and book up well in advance.
In addition to traveling around the country & running his own bistro, he runs an outside catering & events Company, and is proud to say that game is featuring more on wedding menus than ever before!
